December 2007 – Employee of the Year
As the festive season approaches it is time again for ConneXion Employee of the Year Award, voted for the staff by the staff.  Hot off the press I can reveal that into the final round the voted nominees are Laura Shillingford, Sarah Anderson and Steve Smith.  So good luck to Laura, Sarah and Steve and to all our staff, these people need your vote.  The winner will be declared on December 8th.  Joyeux Noël.

November 2007 – SAD–H
21 January 2008 doesn’t sound like a significant date, until you realise that it is the cut off for the inception for UK SAD Harmonisation.  SAD Harmonisation is a major step by the European Union in aligning (Harmonising) the rules for completion of Import and Export Customs Declarations across all EU Member States.

It introduces changes to the way that import, export, warehousing, transit and Community Status declarations are completed.

Aware of some of the problems experienced before, during Customs changes, ConneXion World Cargo have been pro active in training and software implementation such that we are already fully SAD-H compliant, and many of our customers unwittingly will already have had their Import Declaration completed using the new SAD-H process.  21st January 2008 is not such an insignificant date for UK Importers and Exporters.

1st October 2007 – X-Track Launch
Our first customer registered for X-Track today, the ConneXion World Cargo tracking system.  Fully integrated into our operational software, this tracking system enables our customers to see shipping details and progress chase stages of the consignment process either by shipment number or by their own P.O. and reference number.  It is available on all our ConneXion sites internationally and can provide detail up to proof of delivery.  Managing Director, Alan Spencer, said “Having seen many tracking systems available from competitors, we believe our product, X-Track, is by far superior and is more friendly and useful to our customers going way beyond simple consignment reference and shipping data.  Linked to the automated messaging we provide this helps us to strive towards our main aim of customer delight”.

September 2007 – Summer of 2007
Figures released for the summer period (June, July & August 2007) reveal record trading up 27% on 2006.  Adam Lovett, Sales Director, said “We predicted good growth for this period due to our recent marketing campaigns and investment in Sales.  However, the results have proved beyond our expectations and we are very pleased with the performance of both the Sales team and the Operational staff, who are fully behind our mission to grow this company”.  No doubt our strategic growth and investment of overseas offices has contributed, but the engine room is still the UK.

September 2007 – Montijo Office, Lisbon, Portugal
First shipments started moving through our Montijo office as we support the Coastal Air Sea Rescue Service of Portugal and their logistical flow of parts for repair. Headed by Lewis Almond, a ConneXion employee of two years, this office caters for the specific needs of one customer and their parts flow.
