Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) earned the title of the world’s largest containership (OOCL Hong Kong) by carring a capacity as the first ship to cross the 20,000 TEU mark.
The Ultra Large Container Vessel (ULCV) has the ability to transport more than 21,000 twenty-foot containers. The OOCL Hong Kong Vessel measures at 399.87 metres in length and 58.8 metres in width and ranking it among the largest ULCVs in operation.
Update - The vessel arrived in June after a 17 year absence from Hutchinson Port Of Felixstowe, Suffolk. The OOCL Vessel returned to Felixstowe as part of the Ocean Alliance - the largest operational agreement between shipping lines. The vessel will be serving the Asia - Europe Trade.
