Here at ConneXion World Cargo approximately 50% of our current operational staff started out as trainees, some of which now hold very senior positions. Bearing in mind that the most important commodity a customer service based industry has, is it’s staff, and you realise this is so important to us. With no preconceived perceptions of our industry, trainees learn the ConneXion ethos and the ConneXion way of working. This naturally we believe to be the best!
Trainees spend two months on each of our four operational departments of Export Air, Import Air, Export Sea and Import Sea. In addition, one month is spent with UK Transport, one month with Sales and one month with Accounts. The idea behind this is to give them a basic grounding in all aspects of our industry and to understand how each department interacts with the others. They are assigned to a mentor who is either a supervisor or senior member of our staff. Each mentor is responsible for integrating the trainee into the company and advising and guiding them through their formative months with us.
Candidates we look for have to be bright, enthusiastic, willing to be adaptable and most importantly, willing to learn. They must have a good standard of English and Mathematics and be computer literate.
